Privacy by design
Privacy Policy
Effective · August 17, 2026
Walk With Buddha is designed as a private, device-centered contemplative experience. This policy explains how Coding Partners, LLC handles information through the Walk With Buddha iPhone app, its widget, the walkwithbuddha.guide website, and support communications.
Who operates Walk With Buddha
Coding Partners, LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, operates Walk With Buddha and is responsible for the information practices described in this policy. In this policy, “Walk With Buddha,” “Coding Partners,” “we,” and “us” refer to Coding Partners, LLC.
This policy applies to the Walk With Buddha iPhone app and widget, the walkwithbuddha.guide website, and information you voluntarily send to support. Apple, Google, OpenAI, and other service providers also process information under their own terms and privacy policies when they provide their services.
Information kept on your device
Journal entries, learning progress, onboarding state, practice preferences, and reminder settings are stored locally on your device. The app shares limited current-practice information with its widget through a local Apple App Group container. Coding Partners does not receive this information through the app and does not operate an account or cloud-sync service for it.
If you enable practice reminders, the app asks iOS for notification permission and schedules the reminders on your device. You can change the permission in Walk With Buddha or in iOS Settings.
You can delete an individual journal entry or use Delete All Local Data in Settings. Full local deletion removes journal entries, progress, onboarding state, app preferences, reminders, widget data, and any unsent Crashlytics report controlled by the app, then returns the app to its first-launch state.
Apple purchases, services, and backups
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds, transaction history, and payment information. Walk With Buddha receives transaction and entitlement information needed to determine whether subscriber content should be available. Coding Partners does not receive your full payment-card details or Apple Account credentials.
Walk With Buddha does not provide developer-operated cloud sync. Apple-controlled device backups may nevertheless include locally stored app data when you enable an Apple backup service. Deleting local data or deleting the app does not necessarily remove an existing Apple-managed backup, cancel a subscription, or erase Apple's transaction history. You can manage those services through Apple.
Support communications
If you email support@walkwithbuddha.guide, Coding Partners receives your email address, message, attachments, and normal email metadata through Google Workspace. We use this information to respond to your question, investigate a problem, protect the service, and maintain an appropriate support record.
Please do not send journal entries, medical details, or other sensitive personal information. Support email is not monitored as an emergency, medical, mental-health, or crisis service.
We retain a support conversation while handling the request and for up to 12 months after the last interaction. We may keep it longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, a legal obligation, or an active dispute. We will honor a verified request for earlier deletion when no exception applies.
Crash reports
Walk With Buddha uses Firebase Crashlytics alongside Apple's diagnostic reporting to identify and fix stability problems. Automatic Crashlytics transmission is disabled. If a crash report is waiting after the app restarts, you can make a one-time choice to send or delete that report. Choosing Delete Report withdraws permission before transmission and removes the waiting report controlled by the app.
If you choose to send a report, Google Firebase processes the crash stack trace, relevant technical app state, device and operating-system information, and technical installation and session identifiers so related crashes can be grouped and diagnosed. Coding Partners does not add journal entries, reflections, lesson or meditation text, support email, your name, Apple Account information, or a custom user identifier to a crash report. Reports are not used for advertising or tracking.
For Apple's App Store privacy label, the included Firebase manifests classify Crash Data and Other Diagnostic Data as not linked to you and not used for tracking. Some Firebase installation and transport diagnostics are classified under an Analytics purpose even though Google Analytics is not enabled. Firebase currently keeps crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems. Because Coding Partners does not attach an account, email address, name, or custom user identifier, we may be unable to locate a particular report as belonging to you after it is sent. Apple may separately provide diagnostics according to your device analytics choices or TestFlight terms.
Website hosting and traffic information
Coding Partners does not add advertising trackers or third-party behavioral analytics to the Walk With Buddha app or website. The website does not provide an account, sign-in, comment area, email signup form, or payment form.
The website is hosted with ChatGPT Sites. OpenAI and its service providers process technical information generated when a page is requested, such as log, usage, device, and cookie or similar-technology data, to host, maintain, secure, support, and measure the site. Coding Partners can view aggregate traffic information such as page views and visitor counts.
The site is intended to use only technology needed to deliver, secure, and measure the service. An anonymous public audit found no developer-added tracking or optional browser storage. If optional technology requiring consent is introduced, we will provide the required notice and choice before using it.
How we use and share information
We use information described in this policy to provide app access, respond to support requests, diagnose crashes, operate and secure the website, understand aggregate site traffic, comply with legal obligations, and protect our rights and users. Where applicable, these activities rely on your request or consent, performance of a service you requested, compliance with law, or our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service.
We share information only as needed with service providers performing these functions, including Apple for App Store services, Google for Workspace and consent-approved Crashlytics processing, and OpenAI and its providers for website hosting. We select providers whose contractual and legal obligations require appropriate protection for the information they process. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce applicable terms, respond to lawful process, or protect rights, safety, and security.
Coding Partners does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Retention and deletion
Local app information remains on your device until you delete it, reset the app, or remove the app, subject to any Apple-managed backup. Support communications follow the retention period described above. Firebase applies its current 90-day Crashlytics retention process to sent crash traces and associated identifiers. Website technical information is retained by OpenAI and its service providers according to their service terms, security needs, legal obligations, and applicable retention practices.
You may ask Coding Partners to delete information it holds about you by emailing support@walkwithbuddha.guide. We may need to verify the request. We cannot delete information controlled solely by Apple, information that remains only on your device, or a sent crash report that cannot reasonably be associated with you. We may retain limited information when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, or an active dispute.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can decline or change reminder permission, delete individual journal entries, delete all app-controlled local data, choose whether to send each waiting Crashlytics report, manage your App Store subscription through Apple, and control available browser or device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by Coding Partners, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Email support@walkwithbuddha.guide to make a request. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Children and wellbeing
Walk With Buddha and its website are not directed to children under 13 or a higher minimum age required by local law, and Coding Partners does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or profile service. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
Walk With Buddha provides educational and contemplative material. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, therapy, mental-health treatment, crisis support, or guaranteed health or spiritual outcomes. Do not use the app or support email in place of qualified professional or emergency assistance.
International processing
Apple, Google, OpenAI, and their service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Their processing is governed by their respective terms, privacy commitments, and legally required safeguards. Coding Partners does not promise that all processing occurs in a particular country.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, website, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated when required by law.
